What we are going to see

  • Czarna Hańcza river – one of the best spots for kayaking in Europe. The river winds through the intact nature of the Augustowska Forest and the scenic Wigry lake in the Wigierski National Park. One of the main attractions is the Augustowski canal with its many sluices.
  • Wigierski National Park – lying in the north-east part of Poland, the Wigierski National Park preserves the landscapes shaped by the Baltic Glaciation period 15,000 years ago. The Park’s highlights are its 42 lakes of which the Wigry Lake is the biggest with an area of 2,187 ha.
  • Augustowska Forest – a large (160,000 ha) pine and spruce forest stretching over the Polish, Lithuanian and Belorussian borders. Many of the trees are older than 120 years! 10 parts of the Augustowska Forest were designated as preserves due to their flora and beautiful landscapes. In the north part of the Forest lies the Wigierski National Park.
  • Former Camaldolese monastery complex in Wigry – situated on a natural peninsula cutting into the Wigry lake, it is one of the most precious monuments of the Suwalszczyzna region.
